  • Jason Dunks 4.0
By on February 17th, 2009 | No Comments Comments

I wrote about the third generation of Jason Nike Dunks by Mizzee Customs in yesterday’s post. The designer went back to the beginning of the story line to create this final version. If you like what you see, you can get in touch with Mizzee Customs at [email protected] to get your own hot customs.

The premise of the Jason Dunks 4.0 is that Jason Voorhees is chasing after a teenage girl in the forest. We see the potential victim of Jason’s murderous rage hiding behind some foliage on the outside right shoe and inside left shoe. When we take a look at the interior of the right shoe, we see Jason emerging from the darkness to strike his prey. The outside of the left shoe was painted to say “Friday the 13th” to honor the classic horror flick.

On the Jason Dunks 3.0, Mizzee Customs spared the color to focus on the gruesome details of Jason’s latest attack. The fourth and final installment in the Friday the 13th series by Mizzee takes this simple use of color to the next level. The designer’s use of red on the teenager’s lips and Jason’s mask along with the purple soles make these Dunks stand out.

  • Nike Air Penny 3 White/Royal
By on February 17th, 2009 | No Comments Comments

This Nike Air Penny 3 is in white and royal blue colorway. This shoe will be released in March 2009. This shoe was made in honor of Penny. Penny has been sidelined due to injury but not forgotten by Nike. This Nike Penny 3 is meant to be a classic. The cost of this Nike Air Penny 3 is $155 and slightly below the price of the other Penny shoes. You can look for these shoes at the usual Nike retailers.

The toe box joins with the rest of the shoe upper. There are about 4 rows of perforations all neatly arranged. The white shoe lace contrasts with the black tongue. The shoe lace is a thick string that matches with the look of this shoe. At the tip of the tongue, there is a tab hook. This feature is repeated at the back tab of the shoe. The royal blue portion covers approximately half of the shoe. The midsole almost disappears for the center of the shoe while the heel has a prominent midsole. The midsole of the heel has a transparent section that showcases the Nike Air technology. I like the royal blue color used in this shoe. The overall package looks good. (Image)

  • Jason Dunks 3.0
By on February 17th, 2009 | No Comments Comments

Mizzee Customs was deluged with requests to recreate previous versions of the Jason Nike Dunks ever since they dropped in October. The designer’s detailed representations of the Friday the 13th villain have been popular among MAS readers since I posted the Jason Dunks 2.0 in December. You can get in touch with Mizzee Customs to learn more about the Jason Dunks series by emailing [email protected].

On the outside of the left shoe, Mizzee depicts Jason Voorhees slicing and dicing a teenager. The designer did a great job depicting the gory details of the act including blood spatter on Jason’s mask and gloves. The right shoe exterior features “Friday the 13th” in red with a nice fading effect as your eye moves to the midsole.

Mizzee used haunting images on the interiors of both shoes to create a sense of fear for the viewer. I particularly enjoy the repeated use of “Crystal Lake” on the left shoe to set the right tone. Unlike the full-color depiction of Jason chasing a teen on the Jason Dunks 2.0, Mizzee has turned to a simple black/white colorway with red accents to capture what made Friday the 13th great.

    Marc Jacobs Ankle Boots

Take a look at these Marc Jacobs ankle boots. A part of their 2009 Spring/Summer collection, these ankle boots have a vintage yet high-class look. Using brown suede and amazingly intricate details, rocking these kicks with jeans would be very smooth.

Outside of the brown suede, there is a touch of bling on the metallic eyelets. The simple laces add to the overall classy feel. The great thing about these Marc Jacobs ankle boots is that they not only look good, they are also very comfortable. If you want to pick up a pair, head over to TheCorner.com and be prepared to spend approximately $450. Via Slamxhype.

    Adidas Consortium B-Ball Pack - #1

If you are interested in having a fruitful 2009, check out these two fruit inspired kicks from this Adidas Consortium B-Ball pack. After a quick look at these shoes, you’ll quickly realize the two fruits these shoes were modeled after – watermelon and pumpkin. The watermelon will make for a juicy shoe to wear during the spring, while the pumpkin would be perfect for summer all the way to Halloween 2009.

As expected, the watermelon version has a colorway of green, black and red. There’s even a watermelon slice on the tag on the tongue, plus some extra seeds added around the ankle. The pumpkin version isn’t as overwhelming but it does feature a pumpkin on the tongue tag. Via Hypebeast.
