  • Nike Zoom Flight Club – Tony Parker’s First Signature Shoe
By on February 17th, 2009 | No Comments Comments

The Nike Zoom Flight Club is Tony Parker’s first signature shoe. Parker is the starting point guard for a champion team who has won three times. Parker has been recognized and honored with his very own signature shoe. There is no information on the release or the cost.

The colorway has been inspired by the San Antonio Spurs colorway. The toe box is black and is a half circle. The seam is marked by 3 lines of machine stitching. The shoe upper is white and uniformly perforated by tiny air holes. The Nike swoosh is shifted to a new place across the middle of the midsection. The swoosh is placed almost horizontal to the line of the toe box. The back of the heel has at least 4 overlapping layers of different colored leathers. This design has been included to blend with the idea of overlaps. The midsole also uses the overlap of layers.

This shoe does not use the lace but has a broad black shoe strap. On the outer surface of the upper, there is a circular logo. The outsole is in black and light grey. The front portion of the outsole has a layer of fine treads. (Images)

  • Nike SB Dunk Low Premium – Angel & Devil
By on February 17th, 2009 | No Comments Comments

Pictures of this SB first surfaced around Christmas time. They were then given the name “Ants” after the picture on the insole that looked like it had Ants on it. Now we know that they are officially dubbed the “Angel and Devil” after the insole (again) which depicts a very skilled drawing of an Angel and Devil. The nickname could also have been given due to the colors used. Baltic Blue on the swoosh and toebox, which is actually a little deeper than baby blue probably represents the Angel and red that represents the Devil. Like the title states and aside from the average SB these too feature higher quality materials. The soft black leather that graces the upper and the black denim on the heel tab definitely add to the appearance. Another thing that makes the “Angels & Devils” special is the tongue tab. Out now at select Nike SB retailers or Kix-Files.

  • TMNT Nike Dunks
    By on February 17th, 2009 | 1 Comment1 Comment Comments

Sideview Customs customized a pair of Nike Dunks with a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme for a client recently. The designer highlighted the TMNT Nike Dunks at the Nike Talk post linked here. Rather than using the four members of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Sideview went a different route that proved to be a smart decision in hindsight.

The TMNT Nike Dunks use the orange-clad Michelangelo for inspiration. Every fan of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles knows that Michelangelo was the goof ball who was keeping the crew laughing between missions. Sideview painted eyes on the Nike swoosh to look like Michelangelo after cracking a bad joke. The sole and heel are painted orange to match the headband worn by the turtle/comedian.

Sideview went beyond the orange headband to design custom Dunks that a fan of the Turtles would love. On the heel, the designer added TMNT in green lettering to let the uninitiated know what these shoes represent. The turtle shell design on the toe shows that Sideview Customs can get the job done even when it comes to heroes in a half shell.

Nike Foamposite Lite - Nate Robinson Kryptonate PE - #1

The highlight of NBA All-Star weekend is usually All-Star Saturday night and the slam dunk contest. This year was no exception as little Nate Robinson took on Dwight Howard in the finals in a David vs Goliath type of matchup.

Though the matchup seemed set up from the get-go with Dwight getting two 50’s in the first round, all eyes were on Nate Robinson in the final round as he wore his all green ensemble to take down Superman with his Kryptonite.

On Nate’s feet were the Nike Foamposite Lite shoes in a bright green “Kryptonate” PE colorway. I doubt these kicks will release to the public but they were fun to see anyhow.

The shoe starts with a white toe box that is perforated. The black mudguard surrounds the perimeter of the sneaker. The shoe lace holes are on grey panels. The white tongue has a triangle logo with “ACG” to show off its branding. The letters are embroidered on the tongue. The Nike swoosh is in bright red. The inner lining of the shoe is black. The midsole is bi-colored with light grey and white layers. The outsole is black. The ACG brand logo is found on the white layer of the midsole. The heel is covered in grey leather. Over this, the back tab of black leather is attached.

The choice of neutral colors suits this season of spring. The bright red makes a bold statement. There is a balance of neutral and bright colors. These shoes would look good in a wide variety of situations. One pair of good kicks can carry you around without having to fuss about changing footwear. (Image)
