    Adidas SLVR 101 Black/White - #1

As part of the SLVR collection, Adidas has released these SLVR 101 kicks in their online store. At first glance, these shoes look like a combination of a sneaker and a pair of dress shoes. Due largely to the high quality leather and intricate stitching, the Adidas SLVR 101 will run you $195 at the SLVR STORE.

The black upper is complemented with white midsole. The black laces fit seamlessly over the black leather and just a bit of shine is added by the logo on the tongue. Overall, this might be the smoothest release yet by Adidas is 2009. Via Sole Collector.

So far, the sneaker has been issued in electric pink and green colors. The shoes will be shown in many fashion shows during the New York Fashion Week. Nylon Magazine has its offices in New York and is very popular there. Hence Nylon will show off their shoes in NY. The shoes will have an official release date later in 2009. The Nylon Nike Dunk Hi will be featured in Nylon magazine in their April 2009 issue. This is a special issue as it marks the 10th anniversary of Nylon magazine.

The green nylon upper has several seams to give definition to the shoe. The Nike swoosh and midsole are in a slightly darker shade of green. It looks good and does not distract from the uniform green color.

The pink Nylon shoe is identical to the green colored counterpart. Both colored shoes have their multicolored tags proclaiming “Nylon”. If you like pink and green, you will certainly get a kick out of these two beauties. (Image)

  • Starry Night Converse All Stars
By on February 18th, 2009 | No Comments Comments

Designer Ilana Schwartz has joined the competitive field of sneaker art with her Starry Night Converse All Stars. The inspiration for Schwartz’s inaugural customs was the painting Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh. Schwartz’s custom company, High Tied Customs, is available for paint jobs at reasonable rates by email at [email protected].

The Starry Night Converse All Stars represent the famous painting well via the magic of Schwartz’s design and painting skills. We see the deep blue sky, the fiery yellow stars and white/yellow clouds that van Gogh so expertly created years ago. Schwartz painted the silhouetted black crag along the length of the tongue to complete this legendary image.

High Tied Customs got off to a fast start with the Starry Night Converse All Stars. Schwartz took on one of the legends in art history without going overboard or interpreting Starry Night to death. If Ilana Schwartz can handle such weighty material, it will be exciting to see what lies in the future for High Tied Customs.
