Limited releases; you either love them or you hate them. We’ve all been witness to the type of hype and anticipation they create. When a new CDP or limited release package releases, the blogs blow up. But why does Nike do them? Is it for the money? Why would they leave so many Jordan fans in the rain? I personally didn’t get a chance to buy the 11/12 CDP and had to end up paying $500 for one online.

Wouldn’t it be wiser to just release enough pairs so that every willing customer can buy one. Maybe they benefit from all the hype that the limited releases create. When the XX3’s in the premiere colorway were going to release, you could hear buzz about them from the school yard to the corporate offices. Not everybody that buys a limited release does so because they want to wear them. We’ve all heard of the sneaker sharks buying a pair for retail and then making a killing on Ebay. That makes me kind of mad. Why is it that me, a living, breathing, slobering Air Jordan fan can’t get their hands on a pair of XX3’s in the Premiere colorway but some shoe shark lands a couple of pairs. Now, I know that not releasing 1,000,000 pairs are what make these packages so much fun but come on Nike, a restock here and there wouldn’t hurt. What do you guys think? Should Nike restock some of the more popular packages?
