  • Air Jordan 1 “Sole to Sole”
By on January 23rd, 2009 | No Comments Comments

This “Sole to Sole” Jordan pack will drop in Feb. 2009. This shoe was inspired by “A Tribe Called Quest’s” album cover for Midnight Marauders. Each pair costs $110. The shoe uses the Air Jordan 1 High model. Its colorway is black/ varsity red/ classic green.

The toe box is splattered with red and green stripes. The mudguard sets the frame for the toe box. The midsection has the same design as the front. The Nike swoosh is a different leather that is shiny and contrasts with the rest of the shoe. The tip of the tongue has a nice red order. The shoe strap at the ankle looks good. There is an Air Jordan logo embossed on the shoe strap. The horizontal red and green strip decorates the strip nicely.

The midsole has been adorned with a line of green stitches. The lower part has a line of red color from the outsole. Personally, I think the red and green is a good combination. This was inspired by the figure on the album cover. The black colored shoe lace is good as it blends in. It avoids drawing attention away from the main highlights of the shoe. (Images)

  • Saw Dunk High
By on January 23rd, 2009 | No Comments Comments

Mizzee Customs used the 2004 horror flick Saw as the inspiration for these custom Dunks. The designer’s concern with going too far with these custom Dunks led to an restrained and artful pair of sneakers. Instead of covering the entirety of this Halloween cinema fixture, Mizzee stuck to the original (and, in my opinion, best) movie in the series.

The left shoe features the frightening white puppet used by Jigsaw to scare his marks. Mizzee did an awesome job contouring the puppet’s face, making the visage even scarier as it steps into the light. The right shoe has the familiar image of Amanda Young trying to get out of the reverse bear trap that was used to promote the movie. I think the quality of the Amanda painting is fantastic considering the challenges of painting on shoe uppers.

Mizzee used black-on-black chains from toe to heel to represent the various traps set by Jigsaw. While the designer drew inspiration from the movie posters and ads for Saw, the Saw Dunk Highs moved beyond mere replication with the help of Mizzee’s creative interpretation. • Velcro Nike Blazer Lux – white, black, red colorways
By on January 23rd, 2009 | No Comments Comments

The Nike Velco Blazer Lux Pack is the latest in luxury shoes. This Pack has the basic colors of black, white and red.The shoe is made with premium material. The premium leather is soft and supple. These shoes are available at Nike and other retailers.

Let’s look at the white colorway. The toe box is defined by a seam and decorative machine stitching. Above the midsole, there is a narrow panel that is attached with double stitches. Apart from being decorative, this panel serves to reinforce and strengthen the joint between the upper and midsole. Three velco straps offer secure fastening over the tongue. The Nike swoosh goes with the flow of the shoe. It is unobtrusive. The white gum soles offer comfort and a relaxed feel.

I would like the black colored Nike Velco Blazer Lux to be my work shoe. It looks sleek and great with my office wardrobe. I like the red colorway as a casual dress shoe. The hot, chili red shoe would look jazzy with evening attire. It definitely has the party atmosphere. The white colorway is clean and I would like that to be my indoor shoe. (Images)
