  • Zebra Striped Dunk Highs
By on December 15th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

Sneakers by Sean has returned with some custom Nike Dunks that turn the traditional zebra print on its head. The designer featured these customs on his Customsnkr.com blog linked here.

Instead of trotting out a tired black/white zebra print, Sneakers by Sean decided to create a black/blue pattern. The blue swoosh and laces stand out from the black middle panel, toe box, collar and stripes. The detailed black and blue lines on these Dunk Highs show that Sneakers by Sean is obsessive about fine touches.

It is amazing that a simple color change can make or break an entire shoe. If Sneakers by Sean had created a white/black pair of zebra Dunks, he would be going back to square one in terms of his aesthetic. His skill with the paint brush as well as his critical eye made these blue/black Dunks a wonderful piece of sneaker art.

  • A Bathing Ape Isetan Pattern Bapesta

A Bathing Ape Isetan Pattern Bapesta

A Bathing Ape has collaborated with Isetan, a Japanese store, to come up with this new version of the Bapesta. With a myriad of colors and patterns, these Bapes really stand out. Considering the usage of red and green in the color scheme, these kicks would make sense to rock around Christmas time.

Besides red and green, yellow is the most used color on the shoe. In fact, the yellow shoe laces may stand out more than any other aspect. Although the look of these kicks is definitely unique, Bape did a good job of keeping them looking fresh. Though I don’t like these for myself personally, if you like these types of patterned shoes, you can get them at Bape stores for 16,590 yen. Via Hypebeast.

Nike Zoom Lebron James Ambassador Player Exclusive (PE)

LeBron James is currently regarded by many as the best basketball player in the NBA. Fans from around the world are on the edge of their seats watching to see if he can lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to the championship and what team he’ll sign with when he becomes a free agent. This Nike release goes back to LeBron’s basketball beginnings by paying homage to his first ever team — the Summit Lake Hornets in 1992.

The color scheme for these kicks is white, black, aqua blue and purple. The shoes contain the LeBron logo and the logo for the Summit Lake Hornets. While the overall look of the sneakers isn’t overly exciting, it’s definitely a cool and old school tribute. Look for these sneakers on eBay. Via Sneaker Files.

  • Jordan 6 Rings Championship Pack Phoenix – black colorway
By on December 14th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

    Here.

This is the latest model of Jordan 6 Rings Championship Pack Phoenix. The Jordan 6 Rings has been made in several different colorways. This black colorway is available at the OSneaker website. One pair sells at $230.

Although the colorway is black, there are many small details on its upper. Nike has used its laser print to emboss the symbols, traditional icons and designs of all the teams that were defeated by MJ and the Bulls.

The seams of this shoe are outlined in blue thread. The high mudguard frames the upper that has rich details in images. The black tongue ends in a colorful tip. The Air Jordan logo is surrounded by blue, green and yellow patches. There is a unique lace lock and it draws attention to the logo too.

Another outstanding feature of the shoe is its outsole. There are 6 white compartments which house black colored drawings on the white backgrounds. These graphics look like primitive illustrations. There is a yellow colored Air Jordan logo and 3 other compartments that house the colorful patterns. I like this special outsole.

  • Island of Sodor Air Force Ones
    By on December 14th, 2008 | 1 Comment1 Comment Comments

D@ Prince Customs created these kid’s Air Force Ones for a fan of the Thomas the Tank Engine series. The shoe’s name is based on the fictional island where Thomas and his friends have their adventures. D@ Prince showed these photos at the Nike Talk post linked here.

These Air Force Ones feature Thomas the Tank Engine’s smiling face set against a gray backdrop on the toe box. D@ Prince used blue paint and red trim to replicate the tank’s body. He also put his client’s age (4) in the familiar yellow numbering used for Thomas the Tank Engine’s #1 designation. The white heel features a red crown, a final step to set these great Air Force Ones apart from D@ Prince’s competitors.

The Island of Sodor Air Force Ones show that D@ Prince Customs is dominating the field of kid’s customs. Kids can be difficult to cater to, in particular children who are fanatical about their cartoons and live-action shows. D@ Prince replicated Thomas the Tank Engine’s look and spirit impeccably on these Air Force Ones; I am sure his junior client was pleased with the results.
