  • Life and Death Air Force Ones
By on November 20th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

S4 from Sole Creations followed up his Chi-City Nike Vandals with a pair of Air Force Ones based on tattoo art. The Life and Death Forces show the opposite poles of life and death using black/white and a few touches of color. These Forces were found at S4’s Customsnkr.com blog linked here.

S4 did an awesome job translating the detail and life-like look of tattoo art onto these Air Force Ones. The toe boxes feature black/white images of skulls with the left skull emitting ribbons of smoke while the right shoe is donning an S4 hat and a bandana. S4 wrote out “Life” and “Death” along the heel of the right shoe to spell out the two elements of every person’s existence.

While the Life and Death Forces sound a dour note through black and white, S4 comes to the rescue with a flash of color. The right heel has a flaming lock shaped like a heart that erupts against the black backdrop. In addition to the extraordinary touch S4 used when creating these customs, I am impressed that he was able to create sneaker art that shows the complexities of life and death. You can reach S4 at [email protected] if you want your own custom sneakers.

  • Nike Air Max 1 – Gray – Pink – Yellow – “Miami”
By on November 20th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

Nike has a thing for gray, especially on runners. They recently released two different all gray air max 90s and now they have released this practically all gray air max 1. This is not the first gray air max 1 but it is definitely the least dull. The colorful midsole is a mixture of pink and yellow that meet and blend in the middle. The multi shade gray upper is composed of various materials from suede to mesh and finished with white swoosh. Look to your favorite Euro site to cop, as these are Euro exclusives.

  • Nike Air Force 1 High “Specials Pack”

    Source of image: here.

The Nike Air Force One High has a new pack. The outstanding styles are the Stash designed black/white colorway and the Snowboard Boots with a safari colorway. These two styles will be released later in November while the other two styles are already in the stores. Look for them at Nike retailers.

The Stash has a good mix of leathers. The toe box is made of unpolished leather with perforations. The mudguard and heel of the shoe is in textured leather. The midsection is safari leather with black and grey colors. The shoe strap at the ankle uses the same safari leather. The white Nike swoosh is outstanding.

The Snowboard Boot has a white toe box. The rest of the shoe upper is covered in grey colored safari print. The midsection has a small segment of blue and black patterned material. The beige Nike swoosh matches with its shoe strap at the ankle.

The Air Force 1 High with the blue and yellow colorway looks good too. The shoe strap and Nike swoosh are in black color and this accent works well for the shoe.

The last shoe in the pack looks different with its grey colored shoe upper and light blue accents. Nike has provided a different looking, subtle design in the same pack for fans who prefer a toned down version of the Air Force One High.

    Puma x Yo! MTV Raps Stepper - Black–White - #1

If you were a big fan of the first edition of Puma Stepper Yo! MTV Raps, you have to be excited about this latest Puma release. These kicks have old school flavor and are sure to be a hot choice for the winter months.

The colorway of these Pumas includes black, white and green. While black suede covers most of the shoe, the bright white on the laces, midsole and Puma stripes really stands out. The green around the ankles adds a little bit of funk to the mix. The two driving forces behind these kicks are easily recognizable as there is a Puma logo on the side and a prominent Yo! MTV Raps logo on the tongue with Yo! on the heel tab. You can get these at UBIQ Life. Via Sneaker News.

  • Thundercats Air Force Ones
    By on November 18th, 2008 | 1 Comment1 Comment Comments

As a kid growing up in the 1980s, one of my favorite cartoons was Thundercats. I had Lion-O’s sword as well as a few of my favorite characters like Panthro and Snarf in the toy box. Hektik Kicks is celebrating this classic cartoon with a pair of Thundercats Air Force Ones. These customs were found on the Hektik Customsnkr.com blog linked here.

The red/black colorway is a nod to the opening sequence of Thundercats including the Thundercats logo. Hektik Kicks recreates this logo in white on the middle panel to stand out against the red and black colorway. The use of white also draws the eye to the white outsole before viewers come back to Hektik’s awesome work.

The designer shows his high level of skill and Thundercats expertise with a pair of highly detailed drawings on the outside edges. The left shoe shows the mystical villain Mumm-ra complete with loose white bandages and red cape. The protagonist Lion-O is drawn on the right shoe to counteract the evil Mumm-ra for Thundercats fans. I like the inclusion of Lion-O’s sword in the drawing to show where the character draws his strength.
