    Randy Moss x Pony 2008 Fall/Winter Collection - #1

In the NFL offseason, New England Patriots star Randy Moss made the switch to Pony after being sponsored by Jordan Brand since back in the day when he was with the Vikings. This was a surprising move to many but Moss always seems to be doing something exciting.

With Tom Brady out for the season, Moss will be center stage for the Patriots, which may help up the image of Pony. This special fall/winter collection offers shoes for all aspects of Moss’ game including training, on-field play and off-field leisure and recovery.

The collection seen here includes the Moss Trainer Mid, Moss 5.OZ Trainer and Moss Top Star Mid. These shoes are available now at select Pony dealers. Via Hypebeast.

These shoes feature a black / stealth / varsity red color scheme, and draw inspiration from the Stealth edition of the Air Jordan 20. A majority of the shoe sports a black patent leather covering, which is defintiely an attention grabber.

Vans Syndicate and Gabe Morford have collaborated to design The Half cab and Era. Gabe is a photographer and artist. This Pack will be released in time for the holiday season of 2008.

Let us look at the Half Cab. It has a small black portion as its toe box. The ankle collar is black and so is the small segment in the midsection. The rest of the shoe is covered in a grey colored accent. The mudguard that surrounds the shoe is grey and forms a thick framework for the sneaker. The grey panel at the midsection has a white colored embroidered Half Cab label and a figure of a skateboarder. The midsole is white, while the outsole is beige. A small triangle in black has the engraved letter S to denote Vans. The tread is in a dense lattice of crossing lines. There is a “Vans” logo at the bottom of the midsole at the back of the heel.

Let’s look at the Era now. The ankle of the shoe is cut lower than the Half Cab. Its toe box is a large grey cap that occupies almost half of the shoe. The back of the heel has a large grey colored cap too. Both shoes look good and you can choose your preference based on the framework details.

  • Batman Custom Nike

Mo Money Customs is known for creating custom sneakers based in the world of comics. Mo Money’s last creation was a pair of Nikes with a Human Torch theme that I enjoyed a lot. The designer continued his exemplary work with a pair of custom Batman Nikes. I found these photos at Mo Money’s Customsnkr.com blog linked here.

Mo Money used a basic black/gray colorway to set the mood for the Dark Knight. Both toe boxes feature images of Batman from the recent cartoon series; Batman is shown turning his head back at the viewer. He added the familiar Batwing logo from Batman’s suit to the heels to complete these shoes.

Mo Money Customs took the right approach in creating a pair of Batman customs in the wake of The Dark Knight. Instead of reworking the familiar images from the movie, Mo Money used simple images from the cartoon series to show his love of this decades-old figure. I am a big fan of the Batman Custom Nikes because it moves away from the well-worn territory of this summer’s blockbuster.

  • Nike Air Force 3 – Charlotte Hornets – House of Hoops Exclusive

Nike Air Force 3 - Charlotte Hornets- #1

Although the Charlotte Hornets are no longer in existence in the NBA, their memory lives on in the land of sneakers. The Hornets, who now play in New Orleans and feature superstar Chris Paul, wore uniforms that had exciting shades of blue and purple with a white base back in the day. That look is successfully used in these Nike Air Force 3s.

The neon electric blue is the first thing that jumps out at you when viewing these kicks. That color stands out even more due to the bright white upper and the purple accents that are used throughout the shoe. The pinstripe look, which is inspired by the old home jerseys, is very cool. Reflective material is used on these sneakers to make them really stand out. If you are a fan of the Hornets or just like the colorway, you’ll have to go to a Footlocker House of Hoops because these are exclusives. Via Kicks on Fire.
