  • NIKE ID DUNK BY A-TRAK
By on September 6th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

Hot on the heels of releases by The Crystal Method, LCD Soundsystem and Aesop Rock, DJ/producer A-Trak joins forces with Nike to launch his debut record Running Man: Nike+ Original Run as the next release for the Nike+ Original Run Series. The inspiration behind the Running Man Dunk was the artwork for A-Trak’s debut album Running Man: Nike+ Original Run. A-Trak, Dust La Rock and Kesh agreed to base the shoe on the album’s white, blue and yellow color scheme, incorporating additional elements wherever possible. Also lifted from the album was the A-Man logo, which was lasered on to the shoe as a finishing touch.

  • Air Jordan I x Tribe called Quest?
By on September 5th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

The Air Jordan One model has been mocked up in many variations and patterns. This is the latest variation designed by Phife Dawg of Tribe called Quest. This is very new and more details will be released in the future.

The shoe has a black colorway. The midsection has a colorful pattern of red and green random lines on it. The toe box is plain black. There is a vertical panel of leather that separates and defines the toe box and midsection. The shoe lace is black and it is threaded through the black strip of shoe lace holes. The Nike swoosh is black and goes behind to join the base of the heel, which is black colored. There is a nice shoe strap around the ankle of the sneaker. This strap is black, with a red line down its center. The strap is threaded through a few braces, which are also black/ red colored.

The thick midsole is black with a line of white machine stitching running around its perimeter. The bottom layer of the midsole is reddish brown in color. I like the shoe because it uses black color. I like the introduction of the colored pattern in the midsection.

  • Nike Air Force 1 “Armed Forces Day”
By on September 5th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

Nike does a job creating shoes in honor of very important historic people. This time around they choose to honor the Armed Forces, And what a better way than with their own Air Force One (get it ?) . The Armed Forces Day 1 force one feature a sport red and white leather upper. Micro perforated leather graces the eye stay and heel white regular leather is used elsewhere. The heel tab, laces, out sole, and sock liner are obsidian while the missile and panel behind the swoosh are white which creates a nice but not overly done color placemet.

Back in May, these went on sale at the Navy Exchange for 69.99 and now a couple spots in Japan have them available for sale. So hurry up and rush over to Limited Edt before they‘re completely sold out.

  • Neon Bolt Air Force Ones
By on September 5th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

Sneakers by Sean released a new pair of Air Force Ones recently that should catch the eyes of custom sneaker fans. These Air Force Ones are dubbed the Neon Bolt due to the shoe’s electric aesthetic. The designer’s approach to the Neon Bolts shows other artists that an active editorial eye is needed for a great pair of customs.

The Neon Bolts could have easily fallen victim to overdesign in the wrong hands. It is easy to imagine an alternate Neon Bolt with brighter background colors and excessive lightning cluttering the shoe’s open spaces.

Sneakers by Sean kept it simple with a neon green bolt running behind the Nike swoosh and across the toe box on a continuous path. The black background is the only way for the designer to make the neon bolt stand apart from the shoe.

The latest shoes from Sneakers by Sean were found at the designer’s Customsnkr.com blog linked here. The design may be simple but the Neon Bolt Air Force Ones are executed impeccably by the designer.
