  • Obama Force One By Jimm Lasser
By on September 9th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

This pair of sneakers has Obama’s pictures on their soles and is specially meant for Obama fans. Jimm Lasser started his exhibition in New York on September 4. The Democratic Sen. Barack Obama was the theme of Lasser’s exhibition. The picture shows the Obama Force One. The Air Force One model was used to create this. Jim Lasser is a clever artist.

It looks like a special pair of outsoles were designed with Obama graphics and then attached to the regular Air Force 1 shoes. The right outsole has an engraved half portrait picture of Obama. The left outsole has the side profile of Obama. A slogan is included in the lower half of the sole. The sentence reads – “A black man runs and a nation is behind him.” The capital A forms the necktie of Obama’s figure.

The sneaker’s upper is in all white but it can be customized according to the wearer’s desires. The main distinguishing feature that Lasser wanted to show would be the outsole. When the outsole was stained with ink, the portrait showed up handsomely. Now we need to look for Nike sneakers that feature McCain.

  • De La Soul x Nike Pt 2
By on September 9th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

Back in 2005 De La Soul collabarated with Nike SB to create their own shoes. A Dunk Low which released in October and a Dunk High that released in November, both in tribute to their 1989 album 3 Feet High and rising. Both of those shoes are one of the most Nike SBs to hit the market.

De La Soul was seen on Karmaloop TV telling viewers that theyll be linking up with Nike again to create a Dunk. They didnt specify if the project was with Nike SB but given their track record its safe to make that assumption. Their upcomingproject pays homage to their 2001 album AOI: Bionix, where all the members are dressed up in metallic silver astronut suits.According to the info provided these were originally set to release in 2006 but were scrapped and are now rumored to release in 2009. Stay tuned for more info.

Back in April, in an event hosted by Jordan Brands Gentry Humphrey, a
preview of the Air Jordan XX3 Motorsports was displayed for the
audience. The preview image calls out Michael Jordan’s “new love” since
retiring from basketball and that’s motorsports. There’s an actual Jordan Motorsports team from Jordan and Suzuki. Look for it to release November 28th, 2008.

  • New York Yankee Dunks
    By on September 9th, 2008 | 2 Comments2 Comments Comments

I came across these custom Dunks while looking through Sneakers by Sean’s Customsnkr.com blog linked here. These Dunks were created in honor of Yankees Stadium’s last year as well as its role as host to the MLB All Star Game. The designer listed these sneakers at $100 in a men’s size 10US.

Sneakers by Sean loaded up his custom Dunks with logos to honor the New York Yankees. The outside right heel has the All Star Game logo while the outside left heel has the logo for Yankees Stadium’s final season. Both Nike swooshes are painted in red with the front curl replaced by the team’s logo.

The designer’s efforts yielded mixed results on these Nike Dunks. His replication of the New York Yankees logo on the toe box as well as the All Star and Final Season logos was flawless. I was less impressed by the Yankees logo at the front of the Nike swoosh; the bottom of the logo circle is a little sloppy. While the swoosh logo is not executed well, I think that the New York Yankee Dunks is pretty good on the whole.
