  • Nike Zoom LeBron VI(6) Prototype
By on August 18th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

Friday we brought to you the first look at the Nike Zoom Lebron VI. The final product underwent a massive makeover to get what we have today. Now we look at the original LeBron VI design.

At first glance some might say it looks like it should have been the V but at a closer look its clear that this shoe took some things from the II and more notable the IV. This LeBron VI is based around the famous posite technology making a very comfortable basketball shoe. The black/red/white model was given a breathable nylon upper while the black pair wears a suede upper. Carbon fiber accenting is seen around the heels and the scribble print wraps around the shoe from heel to toe.

As you know this was scrapped by Nike and since renamed the Zoom Power. Rumors have it that these will be released as a separate shoe for those inquiring minds. As always some pairs are available now on ebay.

This Nike Air Max 90 Premium QK Pack would be released on August 16. This Pack will be sold at Atmos. One pair costs 14,490 Yen.

The black colorway has accents in light blue, and red. The toe box is made of felt. The mudguard is leather. The shoe lace holes are done on a panel of light black leather that has vertical corrugated lines. The shoe lace is black and woven across a tongue that is made of black, woven fabric. The tag at the tip of the tongue is black. The main section of the shoe is in black leather. Over this section, there is the Nike swoosh in black felt. The light blue collar around the ankle is another accent. The red midsole is a nice finishing touch.

The light beige colorway looks clean with its nearly all beige upper body. The light yellow accent is at the collar around the ankle. The tag at the tip of the tongue has purple colored words. The light blue color for the midsole and outsole is a striking feature.

The grey colorway shoe looks smart. The cool color has a bright red collar around the ankle. The midsole and outsole are in blue and grey colors. Out of these three pairs of shoes, I prefer the grey colorway.

  • Nike Air Max 90 “Nerves”
By on August 17th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

Novice designer JBF promoted these custom Air Max 90s in the Nike Talk post linked here. This first entry into the world of custom sneakers is called “Nerves.” JBF uses spare design elements to replicate the look and feel of nerves in the human body.

The designer used a red backdrop to add some color to these shoes without overwhelming the black nerves that were carefully painted. The nerves are drawn from midpoint to midpoint on both shoes before fading away slowly as they approach the toe boxes. Every reader should be able to notice JBF’s attention to detail by looking at the interconnectivity of the nerves. These thin black lines negotiate tight spaces and glide gracefully across the shoe due to JBF’s steady hand.

I am a big fan of JBF’s “Nerves” because they are created with a fine touch instead of an explosion of color. This designer should maintain his bare aesthetic in future shoes to develop a reputation on sites like MyAirShoes and Nike Talk.

    Gravis Lowdown DLX - #1

Check out this new colorway of the Gravis Lowdown. This version features luxurious brown leather and lots of quality details that make it special.

These shoes feature contrast stitching, including white stitching around the toe box. They also have a side zipper and etching on the midsole. The other day we talked about the collaboration between The Hundreds and Gravis on this same model. Though that white colorway is nice, I think this pair actually is a little better.

You can get these right now at Flauge. Via Hypebeast.
