  • Lockdown Air Force Ones

Every reader who has ever gotten a speeding ticket or parking violation will appreciate Krinj’s latest project. This designer has turned his speeding tickets into art by creating the Lockdown Air Force Ones. These custom sneakers use actual speeding tickets as the background for the Nike swooshes.

It would be easy for a custom designer to lean entirely on the ticket gimmick when creating something like the Lockdown. Krinj did not rest on his laurels and completed the Lockdown theme with graphics on the middle panel and heel. A shoe length of prison bars grasped by desperate prisoners gives way to silhouettes of a prison guard trying to control his prisoners. I think that Krinj’s use of real tickets as well as cartoonish bars and prisoners create an interesting effect.

You can contact Krinj about getting similar customs as well as look at past projects by heading to the designer’s MySpace page linked here.

DC Shoes x Mike Shinoda Remix Project - #1

Check out these DC shoes that are a part of the Remix Project – a collaboration with Mike Shinoda. Shinoda is best known for his work with Linkin Park, the band he has been a part of since 1996.

The intrinsic designs used in these two shoes, the MSDC Xander and the MSDC Pride, are very interesting. Numerous patterns and textures are utilized to give the DC shoes a look of their own. The two main colors in the color scheme are gray and brown. Multiple shades of gray and brown appear throughout the design.

Proceeds from the MSDC Remix Series project go to a scholarship fund to support the Art Center College of Design, Mike’s alma mater.

Mike’s shoes will be showcased in a gallery show being held at the Japanese American National Museum. An opening event will be held for the public on July 11th from 8 -10pm. Both theMSDC Xander and the MSDC Pride will go on sale beginning August 1st at select boutiques worldwide and on Mike’s website. Via High Snobiety.

  • Adidas Superskate “Sieben”
By on July 11th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

    here.
This shoe is available at We Sold Out for 90.00 € per pair.

The Adidas Superskate “Sieben” is a unique looking shoe. The main colorway is light grey with pin stripes that are beige colored. The toe box has a mudguard in white and the detail in a double row of machine stitches, in black thread.

The red shoe lace brightens up the look. The tip of the tongue has a logo with the full brand name and a trademark graphic (an eye). The inner lining of the shoe is red and coordinates with the shoe lace.

On the main body of the shoe, the traditional three stripes of Adidas are represented by 3 stripes of different colored leather. Each stripe is cut with jagged edges and this adds to the interesting pattern for the shoe. The name “Sieben” is sewn on top of the light brown stripe.

I like the cartoon character at the base of each heel. The cartoons on each heel are different. The left heel has a smiling creature while the right heel has a shocked looking one.

The heel has a dark brown colored base, with a stripe of the main colorway running down its center. The back tab has the traditional Adidas logo.

The front part of the midsole is light brown. The second half part of the midsole is white in color. Much effort has been put into the design of this shoe. It looks good!
