  • Vans x Dave The Chimp Pack | Mid Skool Pro

Vans has a new collaboration for winter. This was done with the street artist named Dave The Chimp. This Pack will be available at Vans when it is released in September 2008.

This is a re-worked design of the Mid Skool Pro along with Dave The Chimp’s cartoon characters and cartoon eyes. Dave draws his designs based on his beliefs. He thinks that people should be more alert, wear eye catching clothes and make others aware of them.

The toe box is white. The main body of the shoe is colorful. It is filled with small cartoon faces. They are neatly drawn and stacked. Many of these faces are sleeping, except for a few who have opened eyes. The close proximity of the faces suggest harmony and camaraderie. The tongue is white and at its tip, there is a label in a light red color.

At the heel, there is a pair of eyes on a panel that is colored pink. The shoe lace is pink to co-ordinate with the color scheme. The midsole is white with a pink line going around the shoe. The outsole looks nice with its pink color and the beige word; chimp. This is a nice shoe for the weekend or for relaxation.

  • Mannie McFly Air Force Ones
By on July 19th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

Every reader who has a pulse and knows a little about the footwear market knows about the Marty McFly Hyperdunks as noted in an earlier post by one of my colleagues. Designer Emmanuelabor went to work on customizing a pair of Air Force Ones resembling the shoes worn by Michael J. Fox in Back to the Future II. The result is an inspired though loosely related pair of custom sneakers that should please some sneaker fans.

Emmanuelabor lifted the tongue designs (2015 and two arrows) as well as the basic pattern behind the Nike swooshes for this project. The designer went with a lighter gray color as well as bright colored laces to put his own stamp on the shoes. His post on Nike Talk regarding these customs acknowledges that the end result was not entirely what he wanted. He began these shoes with the hopes of creating a pair of simulated McFly Hyperdunks for his own use. I think that Emmanuelabor’s efforts were successful despite his modesty.

Emmanuelabor says that he plans on finishing another pair of McFly shoes using the Nike Dunk Highs as his canvas. Readers can check out Emmanuelabor’s custom footwear and other projects at the MySpace page linked here.

  • Reebok ERS 5000 “Mardi Gras”
By on July 19th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

We are starting to get some of the images of shoes that will be released in 2009. To celebrate Mardi Gras, Reebok will release these ERS 5000 kicks. The release date is set to be January 1 and these will be extremely limited. Select retailers, such as BNYC, will be getting these kicks but each retailer will only receive 12 pairs.

While Mardi Gras occurs in many places in the United States, the most famous Mardi Gras location is in New Orleans. Even after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, Madri Gras is still going strong. These shoes are brightly colored and fun, which describes what you will see at any Mardi Gras celebration. • Nike Air Max 1 Olympic | Perforated Metallic Pack
By on July 19th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

    Source of images: here.

This Pack has 2 shoes. Both are Air Max 1. These shoes will be sold at Opening Ceremony on Aug. 8. On that special day, the store called Opening Ceremony will team up with Nike Sportswear to operate a 24 – hour souvenir store within their store. This pack will be available on sale there.

The shoe upper is made entirely of gold colored leather. The mud guard has its perforations too. On the shoe upper, only the Nike swoosh is free from perforations. The white shoe lace is an attraction and accent since it is a different color from the gold. The inner lining, shoe lace and midsole are white. The outsole is beige/ gold in color. This is a classy shoe that would look good for night wear and other instances like outings in the disco, party or anywhere for a touch of glamour.

The silver colorway is the corresponding pair of the gold colorway. The shoes look identical except for their difference in the colorways. If I were to choose between the silver and gold colorway, I would pick the silver. Silver is a good color that will blend in and coordinate with many other colors.
