    Etnies SLB23 Spring 2009 Preview - #1

Earlier this year we saw the return of the Etnies SLB23, the Sal Barbier signature shoe, in red and black colorways. Now for spring 2009, there will be more colorways of this classic with the iconic 23 at the heel.

The first is the light beige colorway pictured above. It features white eyelets, inner lining and outersole, along with black laces and a black midsole. This is a very clean colorway that looks crisp and fresh.

The other colorway is black with white accents. Personally, I prefer the beige shoes but if you are a fan of black, this one has its merits as well. Look for these shoes early next year. Via High Snobiety.

    In4mation x DC Shoes Ko'olau Volcano - #1

DC shoes has collaborated with Hawaiian-based brand, In4mation, to create the Ko’olau Volcano. Theses shoe are inspired by the volcanic remnants in the island of Oahu.

The Ko’olau Volcano shoe uses a brown suede upper and combines it with green accents (which are said to be inspired from the island’s golf courses).

These shoes have a lot of nice details, including the gold DC logo embellishment on the strap and the white and black laces. These shoes are expected to release on August 1st. Via Hypebeast.

It was just a matter of time until Karmaloop got over to the Land of the Rising Sun, AKA Japan. With the Japanese and their love for streetwear, sneakers, hip-hop, and other flavor, this is a perfect pairing for both parties involved. It’s great that the Japanese don’t have to pay insane prices for streetwear […]

  • Nike Dunk Hi Premium TZ “Ueno Panda”
By on July 24th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

    here.

The Nike Dunk Hi Premium TZ Ueno Panda is dedicated to Tokyo and the Panda. There is a panda at Tokyo’s Ueno Park and this shoe pays tribute to the special animal. This shoe is the last model in the series of limited edition Nike shoes. This whole series has every shoe dedicated to a different city in Japan.

This shoe is sold at Mita. It is packed in a special cage, to denote how the panda is caged in captivity. The shoe upper is covered in horse hair. The toe box is white and it has a surrounding mudguard that is black colored horse hair. The shoe lace is black and coordinates with the color scheme. The Nike swoosh is in black leather. The tongue is black and has a discreet tag at the tip. The use of horse hair is a good idea as the panda has thick furry skin and the sneaker bears a good resemblance to its inspiration. The midsole has two colors. Two thirds of it are black while the last remaining third iswhite. The outsole is white to give the shoe a clean look.

I like the design of this sneaker. The horse hair makes it look warm and inviting to wear.
