Donatello SB DunksBy SneakerFreak on June 11th, 2008 | No Comments
I recently wrote a post about a pair of custom Nikes based loosely on the popular cartoon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. That designer has been upstaged by the artists at Thirst Customs who have created custom Nikes based on Donatello and Leonardo. The former Turtle member has been immortalized in a pair of Nike SB Dunks.
Fans of the 1990s cartoon will recognize familiar elements from heel to toe. The purple bandanna that covers Donatello’s eyes is recreated cleverly on the Nike swoosh. The cracked pavement that is painted on the shoe’s toe box is covered in the green ooze that turned tiny turtles into fighting machines.
Sneaker fans can tell a lot about customizers by the way in which they brand their work. Thirst Customs used the green-shell pattern of the cartoon’s title to display the word “Thirst” on the tongues of these custom SB Dunks. I love the Turtles to this day and I think Thirst Customs did Donatello justice with these Nike SB Dunks.

The Micropacer will come with a mechanism on the tongue that features a stop watch, a range finder and an ability to count mileage.
The look of these kicks is extremely blingy. Adidas went out if its way to add shine and sparkle to this release. Multiple shades and textures of metallic silver are used, in addition to electric blue stripes. Red is also used along the side and on the sole of the shoe. If you are a fan of this model, these shoes will be a nice choice. Via
