The average sneaker fan probably knows little about former Pittsburgh Pirate Robert Clemente beyond his untimely demise in a plane crash on New Year’s Eve 1972. Clemente was an outfielder for the Pirates for his entire 18-year career and won the NL MVP in 1966. His prolific stat line included 3,000 hits, a .317 batting average and 240 home runs. This short bio shows why Smooth Tip Productions created the Nike Dunk customs pictured here.

The black/yellow colorway used by Smooth Tip matches the uniform color of the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Pirates logo is placed on the left heel along with Clemente’s number 21. An amazing portrait of Clemente taken from one of his collector’s cards sits next to the player’s signature on the right heel. This sneaker is the perfect tribute to a player that was dedicated to the game and his community.

Nike has released the Lunaracer and Lunatrainer.They are available at Sold Out. Each pair costs 130.00 €.

The Lunatrainer has a shoe upper that is made of mesh. The toe box is framed by a cap of leather with 2 thin grey colored strips. The shoe lace region is narrow, allowing focus of the shoe on the main body of the sneaker. The lace and tongue are white and keeps to the white colored theme for this shoe.

The panel of leather with 2 holes adds a small decoration to the design. The Nike swoosh is in black colored leather and is striking on the white upper. At the heel, there is a white panel. The midsole and sole of the shoe are the highlights of the sneaker. They are brightly colored yellow. The air technology consists of a new air cushioning system, Lunarlite foam and flywire technology. These techniques give the user comfort and stability, while keeping the shoes light so that the user can perform better.

The Lunaracer has a grey colorway with accents in lime green, black and yellow. The lime green accent at the toe box is attractive. There are 2 sets of lines that radiate and span out. This is a nice design. I prefer the look of the Nike Lunaracer. (more…)

Pimp My Kicks is adding a lot of color to Nike Air Force Ones with its Candy Paint Glitter customs. These sneakers run 5 from the Pimp My Kicks website where these photos were found.

The explosion of colors on the front panels and heels stands out from the standard AFI white leather. The glittery red swoosh kicks off the color as you look from the center panel back to the heel. Pimp My Kicks used thin white lines between each color in the rainbow to keep this shoe from devolving into a blurry mess.

Pimp My Kicks offers the Candy Paint Glitter customs in men’s sizes 5-14. I wouldn’t mind this shoe for myself if the colors were left without glitter. The overall design is fantastic and the mixture of white with bright colors shouldn’t overwhelm sneaker fans.

This shoe will be available on June 27 at jackssurfboards. There is a pre-sale on June 19.This shoe has a black colored upper. There are accents in red and white. The toe box is black. There is a double line of machine stitches in red thread.Half the tongue is red colored while the upper tip is black colored. There is a large tab at the tip of the tongue and the Brand name is on it. The shoe lace is black and coordinates with the rest of the shoe’s background color.

The main body of the shoe has different panels of leathers. There are 2 panels of zebra striped colors on half of the shoe lace region. The other strip is around the heel.Around the ankle, there is a ring of red and black colored stripes.The inner lining of the shoe is black.

There is a thick midsole. Three quarters of the outsole can be seen in red color. At the heel, there is a heart drawn in white outline. Inside this heart lies a white skull. The machine stitches on the shoe are in red thread. This shoe is rather bold in its accents. It is a fine shoe to make a statement. (more…)
