  • Custom Air Max 90s for Babies

A designer with a newborn baby designed two pairs of Nike Air Max 90s to appeal to the different personalities of his toddler. The picture posted above is dubbed the Infrared with red-orange accents under the shoe laces and around the Nike Air pocket. The Infrareds look sharp and will make the baby the envy of picnics this summer.

The second pair of custom Air Max 90s is called Laser Blue and resembles the design of the Infrareds. The red-orange hue is switched out for a cool blue that is a nice change of pace for a baby on the go. This designer is doing a great job of bring his newborn into the world with a sense of style by turning simple black/gray Air Max 90s into tiny fashion statements.

  • Converse x Kyle Korver – MyChucks All Star Design Contest
By on May 10th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

    Kyle Korver - Utah Jazz

Converse, with an assist from Utah Jazz star Kyle Korver, today announced the launch of MyChucks, a contest inviting participants to design a Chuck Taylor All Star shoe with the chance to win the ultimate prize of having their shoe produced by Converse and sold exclusively by Eastbay.

MyChucks gives contestants the chance to bring their own creativity to the Converse canvas and showcase their design to the world.

Watch this video of Kyle Korver talking about the contest.

Kyle Korver submitted his own design of the Chuck Taylor All Star shoe which will be featured online, along with a video of him designing his shoe and explaining the process.
Korver’s shoe features pinstripes to represent all of the people in his life, and a red stripe to represent himself and his desire to be an original. Converse will produce 226 pairs of the shoe, which pays homage to Korver’s jersey number 26, and will be donated to the Kyle Korver Foundation, whose mission is to make a positive impact on the lives of under-privileged children by improving the quality of life for disadvantaged youth and their families.

“My grandmother was an art teacher and she helped begin my interest in design at a young age. I enjoyed it so much that I majored in visual communications in college, and I’ve had a passion for art and design ever since,” said Utah Jazz forward Kyle Korver. “I’m known as a basketball player but basketball isn’t everything that defines me, and I’ve always looked for opportunities to express myself off the court. I’m very excited for the MyChucks contest because it gives people the opportunity to express themselves by using the most iconic shoe of all time.”

To enter, contestants can visit mychucks.eastbay.com to download the entry kit which contains a silhouette of the Chuck Taylor All Star shoe and contest instructions. Participants need to submit a scanned image of their design and a 20-30 second video explaining their entry. Submissions will be placed in an online, public gallery where visitors can vote on each design. Visitors to the website can also register for a chance to win a new pair of Chuck Taylor All Star shoes every day between April 28 and July 6.

  • Adidas Skateboarding Campus Vulc & Rister Mid

Adidas Skateboarding Campus Vulc - #1

Adidas skateboarding has dropped a couple new models for Spring/Summer. These models include a Campus Vulc and the Rister Mid.

The Campus Vulc features a simple an sweet white and black colorway. The white upper is accented with black stripes and laces. The bottom sole and the adidas logo on the heel are blue. It’s a nice colorway that is very basic and clean.

The Rister Mid is a white leather shoe that is complemented with blue and orange. The bright touches are nice and they aren’t too overpowering. These sneakers are made from high-quality materials with plenty of comfort and cushioning. You can get these shoes right now at Caliroots.

  • Nike 10AC Rejuven8 & Nike Rejuven8 Mule

    Nike 10AC Rejuven8

The first picture shows the Nike Rejuven 8 out of the 10AC collection. This shoe has an all white colorway. It has a double layer design. The inner layer is a mesh composite. The outer layer is a net of diagonally intersecting lines. The white shoe laces look good against the white colorway. Even the shoe lining is white. The midsole has a border of grey around its circumference. I like this shoe and would use it as an indoor shoe. White is a cool color that works well for the indoors.

The second picture shows the Rejuven8 Mule. This sandal takes its inspiration from Rejuven8.

The grey edition has an inner layer with a dense mesh network pattern. The outer layer has a wide net pattern. The midsole has a white border that circles around the circumference of the shoe. The inner sole has a corrugated pattern. The little ridges are actually good for the soles of the feet. The user will feel the gentle massage that is exerted by the body’s weight depressing into the inner soles.

The Rejuven8 Mule comes in a black colorway too. It is almost similar to its grey colored counterpart. I prefer the black Rejuven8 Mule. There is no information on the dates of release for these shoes and sandals.
