  • Adidas Customs in Honor of A Tribe Called Quest

A Tribe Called Quest came out with its third album, “Midnight Marauders,” in 1993 to great acclaim by the group’s fans. One of the album’s fans decided to produce a pair of custom Adidas using the colorful design aesthetic from “Midnight Marauders.” The cover featured a cover of a generic human figure painted in red, black and green with the group’s members in the background.

These colors are transferred accurately to the pair of Adidas shown in this post. The streams of red, green and black were added carefully to keep the shoe true to its inspiration. Fresh and Fly Customz also added yellow borders to the Adidas tri-stripes which reflects the yellow border around the character on the album cover.

I like that Fresh and Fly Customz left the shell toe, laces and tongue plain white. The overwhelming color combination added to these iconic elements of the shoe would have made for an unattractive custom sneaker. The brief areas of white contrast well with the colorful paint as well as the faux-bling Adidas piece attached to the eyelets.

Nike Men’s Zoom Sharkley Basketball Shoe

This shoe is sold here at FinishLine. It costs USD 85 for a pair.

This is a great shoe. It is built to ensure comfort, and fit the foot. Good quality materials are used. It is good value for your moeny. A couple of customers who have tried out this shoe gave it a high rating of 4.5 out of 5.

The shoe upper is in full grain leather. The main color is white. There are accents in black. The toe box is white with a few perforations. These indents are there for decoration as the holes are not pierced through. The tongue is black. It looks like it is made from black colored canvas. The tongue is quite wide and the shoe straps stretch from the shoe from side to side. There are indents on the straps. They make the straps look interesting. I like the 4 white straps that run across the shoe upper. I think that this is a good shoe.

The midsole has 3 colors. The midsole at the front of the toe box is white in color. There is a thick, black border that forms a part of the midsole. It circles around the shoe. Below this is the white colored midsole and outsole. At the heel, the midsole and outsole are made of transparent material. The inner shoe lining is black.

  • Nike Men’s Court Force Hi – white/red/khaki.

    Nike Men’s Court Force Hi - white/red/khaki

This shoe is an update from 1987. It is available at Finish Line for USD88.

The entire shoe upper is white in color. There are two types of accents and highlights. The Nike swoosh is red colored and a bright accent on the white upper. The other accent is in the panels holding the shoe lace holes. The holes are contained within two narrow strips of technicolored, patterned material. I like these colored strips. I think this is the best part of the sneaker. The patterns look like abstract art. The art has geometric shapes that are densely packed together. Each tiny shape has a different color and when they are arranged neck to neck, they form a mosaic. The mosaic is very colourful and unique. Each tiny segment is different.

The shoe lace is white and gives the shoe a clean look. At the tip of the white tongue is a red and white Nike label tag.

The toe box is lined with a row of tiny perforations. This is nice as it gives an outline of the curved part of the toe box. Below the red Nike swoosh, there are 3 rows of perforations. The midsole is white and the outsole is khaki colored.
