Nike B Huarache – Red/ White/ Purple colorway.By SneakerFreak on May 24th, 2008 | No Comments
The new Nike B Huarache is a cross between a Huarache and a BW. This is available at
Fuctard for 13800 Yen. This model is only available in the US. The toe box is red. It has a red border that is a darker shade of red. The midsection of the shoe is white, with a small panel of red in it. The shoe lace is purple and set against a black tongue. These two colors combine well together. At the tip of the tongue, there is a red circle with the Nike Air tag. The logo is nicely incorporated into the shoe.
The sneaker is colorful in front and at the back too. At the heel, the Nike logo is printed across the strap. There is also a black strap that is attached as a part of the complicated design. This strap has details like embossed designs using small circles and rectangles. Black is also used like a minor accent. It is used in the inner lining. The lower midsole/ outsole around the heel is black. The upper midsole around the heel is purple. The front of the midsole/ outsole is white. There is a good play on the combination of colors for each part of the shoe.
I like the colorful and cheerful design of the shoe. I think it makes a good choice for a casual shoe.
Nike Air Stab Quickstrike – Runnin’ Gunnin’By SneakerFreak on May 24th, 2008 | No CommentsThis Quickstrike edition of the Nike Air Stab features a black and infared color combination that is sure to please. Parts fo the upper have the elephant print, while others feature a canvas in certain sections.
The infared and black is a nice contrast that is bold and appealing. The heel features “Runnin’ Gunnin’” and these sneakers are expected to be released with a Runnin’ Gunnin’ T-shirt as well.
There’s no exact timetable on the release of this Air Stab, so keep your eyes out in upcoming weeks. Via
Sneaker News Nike Dunk Highs for Yankee and Military FansBy SneakerFreak on May 24th, 2008 | No CommentsA 17-year old designer posted these Nike Dunk Highs on Nike Talk the other day. These custom sneakers are the young customizer’s premiere pair in his efforts to get a design business off the ground. I think the Yankee and military themes create mixed results on these specialized Dunks.
The camo design painted from heel to toe uses blues and grays that match the colors of the Bronx Bombers. The designer placed the familiar NY symbol behind the swoosh to highlight his love of the Yankees. It is clear that the customizer took great care in honoring two of his favorite institutions.
I admire the designer’s efforts at transposing disparate elements like the military and the Yankees on one shoe. The result is a sneaker that is a bit messy but interesting to view. I am hoping that the designer posts additional pictures on the Yankee Dunk Highs as well as pictures from other projects soon.
Nike Air Max 90 CurrentBy SneakerFreak on May 24th, 2008 | No CommentsThe Nike Air Max 90 Current is not as lightweight and techologically advanced as its counterpart – the Air Max 90 Flywire. Nevertheless, this is a solid running shoe that is certain to do well.
This sneaker is expected to hit select Nike dealers within the next few weeks. It features mesh throughout the toebox and other parts of the upper. The Nike Free sole also aids support and comfort for running.
The light colored version combines white white grey and orange accents. This shoe has some appeal but it’s darker counterpart is just too drab. Via
Hypebeast Nike Dunk Low Mercurial R9 RonaldoBy SneakerFreak on May 24th, 2008 | No CommentsThis year, in celebration of the 2008 Euro Cup, Nike has been designing shoes that were inspired by soccer. During the past few years, Nike has designed World Cup Air Force Ones, Air Max 95 and other models. In 2008, Nike has concentrated on the Nike Dunk and Air Max 90 models.
This new shoe took inspiration from Nike R9 Mercurial. The historical Nike R9 Mercurial was first made in 1998. It was a signature soccer boot for Ronaldo. This was also the first Nike soccer boot to use the newly invented Zoom Air cushioning. This pair of Dunks featured the Zoom Air with a transparent sole overlaying a graphic picture.
The toe box is densely perforated. It is framed by a thick border of blue leather. The shoe lace holes are lined by these blue colored strips of leather. The Nike swoosh is yellow. It is sewn over the blue panel of the shoe. The midsection has machine stitches done in a pattern. This pattern has concentric circles. The back stab is another piece of blue leather.
This shoe will be released in the US in June. In Japan, it is already available at
Atmos Tokyo. One pair costs 16,000 Yen.
