Common Projects Spring 2008By SneakerFreak on March 16th, 2008 | No Comments
I came across the latest shoes dropped by Common Projects while reading through Sneaker Freaker. This New York City-based shoe company combines classica designs with high-end materials to reimagine the casual shoe market. The two models pictured around this post are symbolic of the brand’s simple style.
I love the mid-top sneakers posted above because they have a clean look that is difficult to find in the shoe market. Common Projects has gold lettering on the insole but leaves branding to the Nikes, Reeboks and New Balances of the world. The fact that I don’t like all-white shoes is balanced out with 100% leather that would be tough to find in comparable shoes.
Common Projects provides a list of retailers throughout the world at its
website. I posted yesterday about the Rod Laver Tournament Editions by Adidas that share similar characteristics to models by Common Projects. The Rod Lavers offer one step away from branded sneakers while Common Projects adds a few steps toward simple shoes that speak for themselves. Lanvin Taffeta Hi TopBy SneakerFreak on March 16th, 2008 | No CommentsThis designer shoe has a hefty price tag. The Lanvin Taffeta Hi Top features a combination of colors and textures that is very appealing. The grey suede and leather used in this shoe blends nice with the deep metallic blue. If you are looking for a high-end shoe with the style to match, this sneaker is a good choice. However, you will need to open your wallet wide. It is priced at $730 at Barney’s New York.
The hi top comes in the grey/blue combination pictured above, as well as a copper/beige colorway that is more subtle and looks more suited for winter. Lanvin also has some new lows available is well. Check out all the shoes at Barneys.com. Via
Eighty’s Fresh. Caliroots – Six Feet Down x NikeBy SneakerFreak on March 16th, 2008 | No CommentsOn Friday, Caliroots re-open its Cali Concept Store – Six Feet Down.
To commemorate the re-opening, they collaborated with Nike in a special project that includes a pair of Cali chinos (about $177 USD) in orange and black colorways. The chinos have an allover repeated basketball print. The pair that is predominantly orange are very loud, but the black pair are kind of sweet.
Only 50 pairs of each color will be available. The chinos coordinated nicely with the orange and black Nike Dunk High (about $161 USD) . This shoe features a combination of orange suede with black leather and mesh. The sneaker also has a grey Swoosh and midsole. It’s a bright Dunk that you might think is more appropriate for Halloween, but it actually is a good looking shoe.
All three items come with a special clothing tote in matching print. Get these right now from
Caliroots. Nike and St. Pauli Dunk PackBy SneakerFreak on March 16th, 2008 | No CommentsNike has collaborated with the German Soccer club called FC St. Pauli. They are from Hamburg in Germany. This club has a reputation of being a rebel. This pack has a Dunk High in black color and a Dunk Lo, in white color.
The materials used are premium leather, suede and ostrich leather on the swoosh. This pack will be ready and released in mid May. The white Dunk Lo will be released exclusively in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. This Dunk Lo has a limited edition of only 250 pieces. The Dunk High will be available for the bigger quantity of 500 pieces.
The black Dunk High has a mesh toe box. The side panel has a huge skull and a set of cross bones. The Nike swoosh interrupts the mouthpiece of the skull. It seems to deliberately go across the mouth to tape it shut.Nike sends a stronger message than the mouth piece.
The white Dunk Lo looks very clean cut in its all white colorway. On the body of its upper, the letters of FC are embossed on it. The complicated pattern of the FC St. Pauli crest design is also embossed on the midsection of the shoe upper. The rare spot of color in this shoe is in the tongue, which has the FC St. Pauli crest in red. I like the black colored Dunk High better than the white colored Dunk Lo.
