Celebrating fun, ambitious women from around the world, Reebok debuts the Freestyle World Tour Collection. The Collection features a fully integrated footwear and apparel line inspired by the world’s most glamorous and fashion-forward cities – Tokyo, Paris, New Delhi, Madrid, London and NYC.
“The Freestyle is truly iconic because it represents Reebok’s history as the brand that started the women’s high-top fashion trend,” said Grace Pardy, Reebok’s Head of Lifestyle Marketing. “Back in the ‘80’s, the women who wore Freestyles were courageous and not afraid to take risks. Today, we have evoked that same pioneering spirit through our new campaign. The women Reebok chose to star in it make their own rules — truly embodying the word ‘Freestyle.’ Each celebrity has a distinctly unique story to tell and the cultures of the cities they represent are brought to life in our footwear and apparel collection.”
The Tokyo Freestyle sneaker debuted in February represented by Ai Yasuda, one of Tokyo’s first NFL cheerleaders. The black shoe is highlighted with neon pink and touches of blue.
The Paris sneaker makes it debut in March and will be represented by French singer/songwriter Yelle. Inspired by the famed French dance “The Can-Can,” the shoe design is very feminine, as it incorporates pink bows and laces into it’s white, red and black colorway.
The New Delhi kicks will become available in May and will be represented by Bollywood actress Sagarika Ghatge. The Indian-inspired sneakers combine pinks and corals with gold embellishments.
In July, the Madrid version will be released. This flirty sneaker features a white upper decorated in red roses and highlight in gold. This design takes inspiration from the bright, bold costumes of Flamenco dancers. Spanish model Bimba Bose will represent Madrid.
This September, during London Fashion Week, the London shoe will debut. This shoe uses traditional English patterns and materials such as houndstooth, herringbone and heavy denim. The Tower of London’s iconic raven is embroidered on the Freestyle’s heel of this simple shoe. The London collection will be represented by the talented DJ Nikki Beatnik.
The last shoe in the series is New York City, which will debut in November. This sneaker highlights New York’s famous yellow taxi cabs and graphic prints of popular street names and tourist spots. NYC will be represented by actress Sheetal Sheth, who stars in the upcoming film “Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World.”
Each of the Freestyle shoes will retail for $85. The corresponding apparel collection of hoodies, track jackets, T-shirts and sweatshirts range from $28 to $75.
