  • Black Ice by Evolved Footwear

The latest Nike custom from Evolved Footwear is dubbed Black Ice. These customs truly tell a story of night and day with an unwieldy design in the light hiding a cool gimmick only available in the dark. I am not a huge fan of what Evolved Footwear did to these custom Nikes including black patent leather on the toe box. The mixture of patterns from black leather to the black/ocean blue background and silver swoosh does not come together into a cohesive look.

I think Black Ice is a great novelty shoe because of the glow-in-the-dark outsole pictured below. Evolved Footwear does a good job promoting this shoe with this photo which shows the bright glowing outsole set against a black background. I admire the effort by Evolved Footwear to create a unique custom shoe but it misses the mark in terms of a wearable shoe.

    Nike Running Man Cortez

The Cortez is one of the Nike original classics. It was an orginal conception of Onitsuka Tiger. However, the Cortez evolved into a Nike product through a strategic partnership.

The Running Man Cortez pictured here features the classic iconic silhouette and the “toe to heel” cushioning that the Cortez is known for. This dark blue colorway has a metallic Swoosh and lots of other nice details. If you are big fan of the Cortez, this is certainly a shoe worth picking up.

You can get these sneakers right now at Hanon. Via HypeBeast.

  • The Remake of the Lacoste Ardeur
By on February 14th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

    lacoste.jpg

We all know Lacoste for the stylish polo shirts with the colorful crocodile on the chest. Lacoste has also created some popular shoes since starting up in 1933. The French brand has decided to bring back some popular classics this year starting with the Ardeur.

This tennis shoe is perfect for a day on the courts with a white nylon mesh mixed with matching suede. The evergreen color used on the outsole pops away from the bright white of the Ardeur. A single red line rides along the edge of the eyelets to cut through the shoe’s monochromatic exterior.

You can see Lacoste’s trademark crocodile on the tongues of the Ardeur in the picture below. The reason why Lacoste is revered as much in 2008 as it was in 1933 is the subtlety of its products. Keep your eye out for the Ardeur and other throwbacks in the next month.
