  • Green Vines by Impreation

Impreation has released a pair of custom Nikes called Green Vines that makes the wearer appreciate nature on a daily basis. The background color on the toebox and eyelets transitions from white to dark green over a matter of inches. Dark vines twist and turn with each other as the eye moves to the midsole. I respect Impreation for the intricate vine design though I think it could have extended to the entire shoe.

The deep green of the swoosh and the heel area follows the light to dark transition of the Green Vines concept. I think a novel idea to design this custom sneaker would have been a reverse transition after the swoosh starts. The dark green could have given way to light as the vines wrap their way around the heels.

My fantasy version of the Green Vines should not diminish Impreation’s work. The paint job is impeccable and the concept of the shoe is intriguing to horticulturists and ballers alike.  I think it would be difficult to top Impreation’s work but sneaker designers can create some great stuff in trying.

  • Gravis Tarmac Royal Patent Japan Limited Edition
By on February 19th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

    Gravis Tarmac Royal Patent

Gravis has recently introduced a limited edition of the Tarmac in Japan. The Royal Patent is available in both black and white colorways.

Each of these shoes features patent leather throughout, combined with perforations on toebox, tongue and heel tab. Additionally, they have some more perforated leather on the side.

These shoes are nice because they can be worn with a variety of different types of clothes, from casual to more dressy.

The white version has some slight gold details, while the black edition is trimmed with touches of grey. Both colorways feature a white midsole. I prefer the slick black shoe, as I think it could be a versatile piece to anyone’s wardrobe.

You can get these right now from Mita Sneakers for 12600 yen (about $117 USD)

  • Nike Womens Blazer Mid Plus – Metallic Gold and Granite

    Nike Womens Blazer Mid Plus

Nike introduces their new Womens Blazer Mid Plus. The cut is a little higher than the previous Mids, but the silhouette is relatively the same.

They have released two new colorways of the Mid Plus – Metallic Gold and Granite. Each of these shoes features a filigree pattern all over the uppers. The pattern is less noticeable on the gold version, embossed in the same color of the shoe.On the other hand, the pattern is more bold and evident on the Granite version.

I personally prefer the Granite to the Gold. Though I’m usually a fan of gold shoes for women, this one isn’t impressive to me. Though the white patent trim and midsole is a nice contrast to the gold, the shade of gold itself is not very nice. You can order these shoes right now at the Overkill Shop for about $156 USD a pair.
