I always enjoy highlighting the work of first-time customizers in my entries especially when the work looks professional. The Nikes pictured above are dubbed ”Kid Robot” by the designer and employ a few sophisticated touches to a simple shoe. The most notable change from the original Nikes shown below is the addition of gray paint to the front half of the sole. The designer used a gravel pattern to create a seamless fusion to the ground while running.
Smaller touches show the high potential of this designer. The white Nike swoosh is painted black which may upset the shoe’s original designer but matches nicely with the original black material. Subtle golden touches are added to the top eyelet as well as a bit of mesh on the middle of the shoe.
I was surprised to find that the designer was a novice after inspecting a few pictures of the shoe. I hope other amateur designers emerge from basements and garages to show off their work. We might find a few more gems to challenge the staid designs of major manufacturers.
