As a resident of Milwaukee and a native of Wisconsin, I always like to see one of my fellow Badger Staters succeed on a larger scale. Chris Hui (otherwise known as C2) is a prolific customs artist from Milwaukee who has gotten the attention of rappers and experienced sneaker fans alike.  The shoes pictured above and below are an example of the craftsmanship that C2 brings to the custom sneakers game.

The leather upper is a painted with a mixture of plain purple paint on the outside and a camouflage-inspired use of purple hues on the tongue. C2 has left his mark on both shoes with the words “We Believe” wrapped around the heel. The mixture of color and print on these custom sneakers is unmatched by most artists. If you have an extra $200 plus to spend on a sweet pair of Air Force One customs, you should check out some of his designs at www.c2-customs.com.

In the summer of 2008, the Alife x Parachute Pack x French Summer collaboration will feature four new pairs of Everybody Mids.

These shoes wil come in four different bright colors – yellow, green, blue and hot pink. These sneakers are extremely simplistic with the entire upper in the same color, including the laces. However, the shoes do feature some nice contrast stitching throughout.

The midsole of these shoes is white and the bottom sole is the same color as each shoe.

There are only two interesting notables about these shoes. The front of the sole around the toe area is black, and the Alife labels look pretty sweet. The big label on the tongue says “alifeNEWYORKCITY” in black, while the label on the heel is a black rectangle with ALIFE in capital block letters matching the shoes color.

Paris shoe source Black Rainbow has confirmed these fluorescent Everybody Mids will be released in the summer of 2008.

I really like the idea of vintage looking shoes, as long as they are done right. Some companies try too hard to make their vintage shoes look old, but these kicks from Nike are treated just right.
