Custom Air Jordan Melo 5 VBy SneakerFreak on November 11th, 2007 | No Comments
The Air Jordan Melo 5 V is an understated basketball shoe that provides a great canvas for aspiring shoe designers. Custom sneaker lovers will note that the Melos shown above are kept relatively the same as when they hit store shelves. The designer added some red flares on the outside of the sole to give the illusion of fire as the wearer runs by. The most impressive aspect of the custom Air Jordan Melos pictured at the top is the subtle use of red on the interior of the tongue and the exposed top of the shoe’s insides. The sparing use of red keeps the integrity of this instant classic while making any sneaker fan wonder when these customs will be created in mass numbers.

New Balance H574J HybridBy SneakerFreak on November 11th, 2007 | No Comments
This hybrid version of the New Balance H574J features a slightly higher cut and bright colors.
This shoe is made tough, while still maintaining a stylish look. It comes in two colorways. The first features a fuschia upper, black toebox and heel, neon green trim, grey-blue toe and other touches. Though this color combination may seem like it should be obnoxious, it actually looks somewhat muted and very nice.
The other colorway is a little brighter, featuring a bright blue body, black toe and heel, red laces and trim with bright yellow accents.
These shoes will be available next month in several retailers, but you can get them right now from
Mita Sneakers for 10,300 Yen (about $92 USD) per pair. Nike Paul Rodriguez II.By SneakerFreak on November 11th, 2007 | No CommentsThe Nike Paul Rodriquez 2 sneaker was inspired by the personal style of Nike SB’s Paul Rodriguez. This shoe was designed to combine fashionable style with functional use. It looks sporty but is casual enough to be worn as an outdoor shoe. This shoe will be available soon at the Nike SB website.
I like the tongue of the shoe. It is composed of perforated, breathable mesh. The midsoles are supposed to be comprised of EVA material. This has the characteristic of being lightweight while providing good impact absorption.
On different models of this same shoe, the tongues might be having the signature of Paul Rodriguez. His signature expresses his creative personality and is a work of art itself. The Nike SB branding is also present at the heels of the shoe.
I have seen another model of this Nike Paul Rodriquez edition and it has red, orange, blue, yellow, black and white colors.
Generally, the signature shoes are collectibles and some editions bear this in mind. They are made using several colors and are fashion icons. The value of the brand new pair of sneakers may appreciate in time or with a re-sale.
The custom tread pattern on the outer sole promises a good gripe on the field of action. This shoe is a good buy.
Nike Customs in Subdued Fall ColorsBy SneakerFreak on November 11th, 2007 | No CommentsThe pair of low top Nikes in the picture above uses a nice color scheme for anyone interested in attending a Virginia Tech football rally or dressing as the Great Pumpkin. Orange leaves are placed on the outside of each shoe as a nice accent to the orange at the top of the tongue. Light and dark brown mix over the entire shoe as a nod to the falling leaves and naked tree trunks of autumn. I like that the orange is subtle on this custom sneaker and the art work is completed as flawlessy as can be expected. The best part about this autumn-inspired shoe is that the white swoosh and laces are kept intact in stark relief to the darker colors.
